0:00 - Introduction by Brigitte Shim 5:17 - Inès Lamunière presentation 1:00:29 - Moderated discussion 1:13:54 - Q & A On March 23, 2016, Inès Lamunière presented a lecture at the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design. Inès Lamunière is the principal of dl-a designlab-architecture, a leading architectural firm based in Geneva. With Patrick Devanthéry, the team’s buildings and design show a strong attachment to context and sustainability at all scales, transforming these themes into fully poetic atmospheres. Recent projects include the Opera House in Lausanne, the Swiss Research Labs and the New Prieuré Neighborhood, both on the outskirts of Geneva. Their projects and buildings have been exhibited (Paris 2010) and widely published (Birkhaüser 2006, Archibooks 2010, Infolio 2011). Inès received the Meret Oppenheim Prize for the Arts in 2011 for the quality of her unique contribution to architecture in Switzerland. In addition to her practice, Inès Lamunière conducted research in architectural theory and history as a member of the Swiss Institute in Rome from 1982 to 1984. She was appointed as a professor of architectural theory and design at EPF Zürich, and then at EPF Lausanne - where she founded LAMU, of which she is director, in 2001. In 1996, 1999 and 2008 she was Guest Professor at the Graduate School of Design, Harvard University. She recently published “Objets risqués,” a study on integrative infrastructures, PPUR, 2015.
