Majid Farshi, director general of crisis management at East Azarbaijan province, told the state news agency IRNA that the strike in the early hours of the day targeted a military area in the southwest of Tabriz city, located in northwestern Iran. Farshi added: “Rescue, security and law enforcement agencies were present at the scene in the initial moments after the incident, and necessary measures are being taken to manage the crisis, provide relief to the victims, and investigate the exact extent of this crime.” The US attacks focused on southern Iran up until last night. The attack on Tabriz in northern Iran is the first outside the southern part since the latest escalation began around 10 days ago.
