JBL 6-Disc CD changer (ERROR 1 / ERROR 3) issues | 2008 Toyota Camry XLE V6

I've had my 2008 Camry XLE V6 for just over two weeks how. The JBL audio system (non-navigation) is kind of showing its age (rear woofers foam rotted - had to snip the wires). The radio (AM and FM) and AUX in work just fine and the front speakers sound great. I decided to test out the CD player/changer and, the first time I tried to insert a disc, it had to try multiple times before it gave up and flashed ERROR 3 on the display. Removed the disc, tried again, and this time it actually loaded the CD in, but flashed ERROR 1 on the display after what sounded like some struggling of the laser pickup mech. On the third attempt, everything went fine and the CD started playing smoothly with no hiccups. I had a look at the service history and the stereo has been replaced at least two times already, the first time under warranty. I noticed if I don't use the CD player for a couple days and then try to use it, it'll struggle for a bit trying to pull the CD in, spit it back out, pull it in, spit it back out until it finally loads the disc. Sometimes I have to do multiple attempts. Occasionally I get an ERROR 1, re-load the CD, and then it plays successfully without any skips. I guess the good news is I haven't gotten an ERROR 3 since that first time.
