Birmingham Through Time - Moat Row | From Manor House to Car Park | Lost streets of Brum.

How to destroy an 800-year-old Market Heritage - Moat Row. Moat Row was one of the oldest thoroughfares in the Birmingham Market Area. It was traced in about 1772 in a land that once formed part of the Lord’s Demesne — the land belonging to the ancient Lords of the Bham Manor. The old seat of the Lords of the Birmingham Manor was located in Moat Row before the area was redeveloped in the early 19th century and converted into a Cattle Market. Moat Row disappeared in about 1975 as part of an extensive redevelopment of the market area.
