Ding-Dong Ditch

Ding‑Dong Ditch comes from the nights I used to drive my boys and their friends around Keokuk, Iowa, letting them play the same harmless mischief I loved as a kid. The bubble gum in the song — and the Caribbean music I chose for it — both serve the same purpose: to remind us how innocent, sweet, and fun those memories really were. This song was meant to feel like joy. One night the boys wanted to go get a girl from school, knocked, ran, and her dad jumped in his car and chased us down the street. The kids were yelling, I was laughing, and it instantly became a family legend. Ding‑Dong Ditch is pure fun — childhood mischief passed from one generation to the next, bright and sticky as bubble gum.
