I made this marking knife
A marking knife is one of the most important tools in the woodworking shop. Precise joinery is nearly impossible without one. While it is of course possible to just use any old utility knife, I think it is really worthwhile to have a dedicated marking knife that is nice to work with. I recycled an old plane iron from a junk pile and shaped it into a slender blade that just feels good in my hand. It is not the first marking knife I have made but certainly the best one so far.
