Fishin' with Fitz, Patoka Lake, Indiana, 5/24/2026

On Sunday, May 24, 2026, I met up with some friends at the Osborn Ramp at Patoka Lake. I was joined by my longtime friend, Shane Cole, and his nephew, Fitz Cole. We met at Patoka Lake so that Shane could introduce me to Fitz. Our plan was to fish a half day and test out some new plastic baits made specifically for this outing. Shane bought an artificial bait business in Arkansas that specialized in soft plastics. He moved the business to Southern Indiana and is working to get it established. Shane’s motivation for building the business is to give his nephews and niece an opportunity to learn what it takes to run a small business while they’re still in school. It’s a great way to teach them real-life lessons about responsibility, hard work, and the ins and outs of running a company—while also giving them a way to make a little money. While Shane is doing the legwork to get the business up and running, he is letting the kids make the big decisions. He plans to pull back to a supporting oversight role and have the kids run the business once it starts gaining momentum. Shane reached out to me because he was looking for help promoting the new business. One of my own goals is to gain local sponsorships to help offset the cost of competitive fishing, so I was excited to explore a partnership that could benefit both sides. I am happy to announce that moving forward I will be sponsored by Cole's Reel Good Baits! They are currently working on an online storefront so they can make their products available to everyone. As soon as they’re online, I’ll be sure to get the word out through my social media platforms. So be on the lookout for great things to come from Cole’s Reel Good Baits. Again, I am currently looking for local area sponsorships. I would be happy to meet with you and show you how I can showcase your product or services through my online social media platforms and videos. Enjoy the Video!
