Milling Monday: Perfect Holes, Threads, and Engraving in Fusion 360
Happy Mailing Monday! 📬 In today’s video, we are stripping away the bulk work and focusing purely on the toolpaths that give your parts that professional, finished look. We’re deep-diving into five essential strategies: Bore, Circular, Engrave, Chamfer, and Thread. 🛠️ The "Final 5" Finishing Strategies: 1. Bore Toolpath Learn why the Bore strategy is our go-to for high-precision holes. We’ll cover how to use helical motions to achieve tight tolerances and superior surface finishes compared to standard drilling. 2. Circular Toolpath We break down the Circular strategy for milling circular pockets and bosses. It’s the fastest way to generate clean, efficient toolpaths for any cylindrical geometry on your part. 3. Engrave & Fusion Fill Let's talk branding! We show you how to use the Engrave toolpath with "Fusion Fill" (hatch patterns) to create high-visibility logos and text that stand out. 4. Chamfer & Deburring Giving your part a clean edge is vital. We’ll look at standard 2D Chamfering and highlight the new January Update for Deburr, which now allows you to exclude vertical edges or specific hole diameters so your finishing tool stays exactly where you need it. 5. Threading (New Update!) Threading just got a major speed boost. With the new Automatic Definition Mode, you can now reuse thread parameters directly from your design space. This means you no longer have to manually re-enter thread specs in the manufacturing space—Fusion does the heavy lifting for you. Which of these five toolpaths do you find yourself using the most?
