More Valuable than Gold.... JADE!

Jade, the green gold of the Fraser River. In this video Dayna and I hunt for the elusive and beautiful Fraser River Jade on one of my Fraser river placer claims. This claim has great gold, but also has huge gravel bars which host placer Jade in boulders from the size of you hand up to many hundreds of pounds. I explain what to look for, and how to identify jade. as well as how to test it to determine if the rock is Jade, serpentine or an ultra-mafic green ingenious rock. After our hunt I take some of the stones back to the workshop and cut them showing the amazingly beautiful interior of the stone as well as cut slabs to show the translucency of the jade.
