Who did the Edomites worship?

The Edomites make frequent appearances in the Bible. They lived in what is now Israel and Jordan and were often enemies of the ancient Israelites. In the Bible, though, the Edomites aren't explicitly condemned by the prophets for their idolatry. So who did the Edomites worship? We know it was a deity named Qos or Qaws, but we don't know much about this figure. We know that the Hasmoneans converted Idumea to Judaism but in the Iron Age they worshipped a deity by the name of Qos/Qaws. Could it have been an Edomite name for Yahweh?
