Xbox’s status page initially reported the outage on Sunday at about 11PM ET, and it also prevented people from logging in, launching apps, or finding games on the Xbox store. This morning, the page also noted that users “may have problems” playing their digital and disc games, which posts on social media confirmed. During that time, my colleague Richard Lawler was able to launch digital games he owned, but trying to boot up games tied to Game Pass popped up error code 0x87e107df, indicating the license couldn’t be verified. However, at 6:48PM ET, Xbox finally confirmed that the issues had been mitigated. “You should once again be able to launch games, sign in, and complete purchases,” the company said on X. “Thanks for sticking with us through a long one.” The status page also says that “All services up and running.” Somehow Xbox has topped PlayStation. Can’t play digital or disc based games cause of the Xbox online network being down. But yeah tell me how sweet the all digital future is, one network issue and the system is useless. Xbox is apologizing for a major outage yesterday that locked players out of games. The CTO called in acceptable in a transparent breakdown of what went wrong and how Xbox is planning to improve things. Last week, Playstation PSN was down. Today, XBOX has been down for over 15 hours Clearly, they don't have the infrastructure to be digital only for consoles. Physical games NEED to be an option for people no matter (with offline play) I don’t know how can anyone defend the digital future after the past few days it has never been more obvious that u don’t own your games PS3 can’t launch digital game if your psn account is not active for a long time PSN down for a lot of hours, can’t download or verify games Xbox down, can’t download or launch your digital games mostly Literally how anyone sees that and still is ok with removing discs. As a community we should ask for better digital rights as well as keep physical. These companies are the enemy, not fans against fans "Late last night, a licensing service that sits outside of XBOX, but which XBOX depends upon, began failing. This caused some sign-in scenarios to fail, and it caused many scenarios that require an entitlement check to also fail, such as listing out your Full Library and launching games that you own. It also affected several of our publishing and store partners who depend on those same systems which is why some of you saw issues in specific games and not others."
