Abstract with Oil Paint and No solvents! #artvlog

If you’re new here, you may not know that I used to paint abstract art with acrylic paint. After realizing I was allergic to acrylics, I had to step away from that medium and figure out what art would look like for me going forward. About a year ago, I tried oil painting, but honestly, it felt frustrating. The drying time was much longer than I was used to, and I couldn’t make the same kind of marks I loved making with acrylic paint. But lately, I’ve been feeling ready to give oils another try. These are not finished paintings. This is just the beginning, and I’m still figuring it out as I go. Since I can’t use solvents, I thought I’d share a little bit of what painting with oils looks like for me right now. Have you ever had to change the way you create because something no longer worked for you?
