Creality CR-200b design flaw

This is my new addition to my 3D printing family and is also my first enclosed 3D printer. What originally attracted me to this printer is it has a similar build volume to my ender 3v2 just enclosed. I believed that this printer would give me just as good prints as the ended 3 but it would allow me to keep it in the garage instead of my work room. While testing this printer I ran into a big problem. The problem was that the extruder was getting hot enough to melt the pla filament at the gears. The CR-200b does have a filament run out sensor but because the extruder is above the sensor that doesn’t really help. I upgraded the extruder to an all metal extruder with stronger springs and well as you see it didn’t help. I have ordered a second cr-200b to see if this is an isolated event but I’m leaning towards a design flaw.
