Fitheid & Warrior Mindset | Serie: Voorwaarts Mars! Ik word militair | Aflevering 4

In this fourth installment of our series on the Royal Netherlands Army Basic Training (BOKL), you'll see how fitness, mental resilience, and the warrior mindset play a central role in military training. During the BOKL, trainees learn not only the basic skills of military service but also how to become and remain physically and mentally strong. From obstacle courses and swimming proficiency tests to military self-defense, sportsmanship, discipline, and perseverance are key components of the training. The group also visits the shooting range for the first time, where they learn to shoot live ammunition. An exciting moment for most. But before they get to that point, they practice extensively in the shooting simulator (SIM). There, they hone their key (shooting) skills, ensuring instructors can ensure everyone can handle a weapon safely and responsibly. They learn to shoot with both the mechanical sight and the quick sight, the red dot. Not everyone makes it to the BOKL finish line. In this episode, student Tim shares his personal story and explains why he made the difficult decision to quit the BOKL: "I've decided I can't continue." 00:45 General Military Fitness Test 02:23 Obstacle Course 04:40 Military Self-Defense 07:34 Shooting Simulator (SIM) 09:10 First Time at the Shooting Range 12:21 Brigadier General Gert-Jan Kooij 13:25 Decided to Quit 16:21 The Next Episode Episode #5 airs Sunday, November 2nd at 5:00 PM! ⁉️ Do you have a question about the program?
