Have you ever wondered why humans are the only animals that stumble over the same stone twice? In other words, we are the only ones capable of making the same mistake twice. Many don't leave the desert because they don't learn their lesson; they insist on going around in circles, on doing things the way they've always done them. That's what happened to the nation of Israel for 40 years. In your case: what is the hole in your life? Are we repeating our parents' patterns? Do we continue associating with the same people who have hurt us? When we start a new relationship, do we continue making the same mistakes? Do we keep fighting with our spouse over the same things? If we fall into a hole, why is it so hard for us to get out? To get out of the hole, we have to take responsibility. To illustrate this, I want to talk about two people in the Bible: Peter and David.
