The state is now connected to India’s railway network, and tomorrow, the PM will inaugurate the line along with three new trains. This project faced immense challenges, including constructing a bridge taller than the Qutub Minar, making it one of the most complex railway projects in India. ”Q: Why was this project so challenging compared to others, like the USBRL project? “The Himalayan terrain here is similar to other challenging projects. As a young mountain range, the Himalayas have complex geology with loose soil, sandstone, and organic material, unlike older mountains with stable granite. We had to solidify the soil to create rock-like stability before construction, which made this project exceptionally tough.” Q: How will this railway connect Mizoram to other regions in the future? “The line fully connects Mizoram to the national network, and we have plans to extend it further.
