North Damen Avenue: Driving in Northside Chicago: 4K: Streets of the Americas

Today we will be navigating north bound on Damen Avenue from Madison St in Near West Side to Bryn Mawr Ave in Bowmnaville neighborhood in Chicago's northside. Damen Avenue is a north south thoroughfare running about two and half miles west from State Street. It is 2000 west in Chicago's city grid system. The street can be traced from the border of Evanston and Chicago in the north side to 101st Street to the south in city's Beverly neighborhood. There are several locations where Damen Avenue gets cut off and remains fairly non descript. The first one in the north side where Rosehill cemetery disrupts the grid flow. Similarly down by Back of the Yards neighborhood from Pershing Road to 47th street in the Southwest side then runs seamlessly until 87th Street. And in the far south side Damen Avenue runs as a residential Street from 90th Street to 101st Street. Some notable landmarks along the way are United Center(Home of Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks) John Stroger Cook County Hospital and Six Corner entertainment area.
