CROSSING THE MOUNTAINS OF CENTRAL RHODOPE RANGE (Full movie)

Rhodope mountain range in Northern Greece is mainly a forested area which beginns east of the Nestos river and extends east to the plain of the Evros river. To the south it is bounded by the coastline of the Greek administrative region of East Macedonia and Thrace, to the north it is delimited as the Greek Rhodope by the border between Greece and Bulgaria. As a filmmaker when i find myself in the mountains, i usually aim for the harsh alpine zone where the activities of the climbers go to the more extreme. This time though the challenge wasn't that obvious. We had to immerse ourselfs in the forest, scaling peak after peak walking for 170 km in a row, for 7 days. Slowly i realised that this time it was different. I had to discover the beauty for my self. The feeling was getting more and more intnse as the days would pass. Everyone can visit those mountains and become part of it, to smell it, to hear the sounds, to feel it to discover it. Its not easy at all to capture these qualities in a video, but i hope that the whole team, and me behind the camera we gave our best. Pavlos Tsiantos
