Founder of the Franciscan Order and all its branches, Saint Francis of Assisi was a convert. He led a disorderly life, joined the army of Assisi at age 16, participated in two local wars, was imprisoned, suffered from malaria and tuberculosis, and returned changed. Reading a manuscript of the Gospels changed his life. And he became a contemplative with an active life. By praying the Rosary of Saint Francis, we come into contact with this great master of spiritual life and total surrender to God; and we ask for his intercession for our needs.
