Rewiring B9 airbags for B8 or C7 cars with reprogrammed buttons

If you’ve bought our reprogrammed buttons for B9 steering wheels to be used in older model cars. You will still need to repin 2 cables, the ground and horn wires are wired differently. So will require you to depin the cables. This is also applicable if you buy a decoder which does not have pins connected and you are expected to splice all the wires. Instructions: Open the black plug and depin the blue cable (horn) Unwrap the cable insulation from the black plug to the yellow plug. Reroute the blue wire to the yellow plug. Open the yellow plug. Unlock the purple locking pin and make sure it is in line with the outer yellow housing. Use a depinning tool to depin the brown wire (ground) from slot 10. Pin the brown wire to slot 1 Pin the blue wire to slot 2. Close yellow plug, lock the purple locking pin. Rewrap insulation tape. Replace cover on the button plug. Please note: you may have to trim the wings of the airbag yellow plug where it contacts the clockspring to make it fit your model of car. We did not show this as it requires a sharp knife and a bit of pressure
