Egypt's giant cemeteries - The Cities of the Dead

This is the first "side quest" of Project Africa. Unlike the normal episodes of the series, I go one step further in my deep exploration of the countries I visit. In this video: I explore and make sense of Cairo's Garbage City, which has developed the most efficient recycling system in the world I get to know Egyptian Coptic Christians and understand their fascinating culture. I visit the largest church in the Middle East, the Monastery of Saint Simon. I meet a man who was born and raised in one of the largest cemeteries on earth, Al-Qarafa. I witness the most scenic cemetery out there, Zawwiyyet Al-Mayiteen. I learn a lot about ancient Egyptian's beliefs about death through their monumental structures and art. And most importantly, I deal with grief for the first time and find meaning behind it.
