Mack MAN Scania hauling bulls in New Zealand's largest high country station - Molesworth
Shot around the turn of the century, this clip shows three 8x4 livestock trucks - comprising of a Mack Ultraliner, an MAN and a Scania, moving bulls into Tarndale - deep in the back-blocks of New Zealand's largest high-country station - Molesworth Station. Working for Amuri Transport, these trucks are representative of the technology developed by the New Zealand road-transport industry to move livestock around the country. The load for today are bulls, and this gives an insight to a day in the life of a livestock driver - who often find themselves in remote corners of the country, taking their trucks and trailers down tracks that were originally laid down for wagons, requiring a skill and judgement levels far beyond those needed for driving on tarmac.
