Lately, I wanted to do all sorts of runs that not many people have done before. This rush hour route is one of them, the (4) Train running via the (3) Line. During late nights, the (3) Train runs as a shuttle between Harlem-148 St and Times Sq-42 St and the (4) takes over for the (3) towards New Lots, making all local stops on its entire route. However, don’t expect me to do late night runs because I won’t feel safe doing that and late night service is not fun to do. However, this is a rush hour type run. Like how the (5) Line’s sister route is the (2) Line, the (4)’s sister route is the (3). When I look at this rush hour route, I think of how there are some (5) Trains that run via the (2) Line to/from Nereid Av, its sister route. During the PM Rush Hours, there are two (4) Trains that run via the (3) Line to New Lots Av in the peak direction, making all stops along the Livonia Av Line. This is a fun rush hour route even though taking the (3) over Livonia Av is a lot of fun. The (4)’s normal route is between Woodlawn and Crown Heights-Utica Av, but if the MTA goes forward with a Utica Av Line towards Kings Plaza, expect the (4) to go that route at all times and the (3) to go to New Lots Av at all times.
