Flying with an Air Traffic Controller Onboard!
On today's flight, we fly with an Air Traffic Controller from Edinburgh International Airport on board ! Make sure to watch the full video to get insights as to what ATC need to consider, as general aviation traffic transits into the Class D airspace. IMPORTANT: Prior to taking off, we made sure to call Edinburgh Tower on the phone to pre-advise them of our upcoming transit. Doing so helps Air Traffic Control a considerable amount, as calling them on the radio for a transit without prior warning means they must manually enter 13 seperate details on a virtual keyboard into their system while managing incoming IFR traffic. This then impacts wait times for obtaining a clearance, and unecessarily increases work load for the controller. Next time you fly, remember, CALL AHEAD! It will make everyone's experience a lot smoother and safer. Aircraft is a PA-28 Warrior II Thank you for watching! DISCLAIMER: This video is for entertainment purposes only.
