Adtranz/Siemens Modular Metro A1 (GTO-VVVF) - Tianhe Sports Ctr to GE Rwy Stn (Guangzhou Line 1)

The first type of rolling stock introduced on the Guangzhou Metro and the only type in the system to be completely sourced outside of China. This was before a requirement was imposed that most parts must be built domestically (i.e. made in China). Built by Siemens and Adtranz, they were similar to rolling stock supplied to Shanghai Metro Lines 1 and 2. A total of 21 trainsets were built and they operate exclusively on Guangzhou Metro Line 1. They are fitted with GTO-VVVF traction control system.
