Gorch Fock verlässt Kiel zur 175. Auslandsausbildungsreise

On the 175th anniversary of the founding of the German Navy, the sail training ship, Gorch Fock, left its home port of Kiel on its 175th foreign training voyage. The trip goes first to Spain and Portugal and their islands in the Atlantic - Madeira, for example. The way back leads via Ireland. The return to Kiel is scheduled for July 7, 2023. There are around 250 officer candidates on board - including cadets from Korea, Colombia, Malaysia, France, Togo, Cameroon, Benin and Senegal. The video captures the farewell mood at the Gorch-Fock-Mole. Families and naval music corps Kiel are crowded in front of the ship. After the Schleswig-Holstein song and the national anthem, the ropes are loosened and the Gorch Fock sets off towards the south.
