Loki and How Conservatives Become Fascists

Marvel's Loki shows us what fascism looks like, and how it comes to take root within innocuous conservatism. Yeah, I don't know how this ended up being 40 minutes long either. Corrections: • The original version of this video said that Rupert Murdoch and the Koch Bros are/were Jewish. This is incorrect, and I edited out the bit where I said it. Actual examples of Jewish funders of the right include Sheldon Adelson and Ike Perlmutter. • Malthus never directly said that the poor and unskilled should be liquidated, but he did oppose aid to the poor on the theory that they should be allowed to naturally die out if they were of no use to society in order to preserve resources. At one point I refer to Hunter B-15 as "T-15" The Capital riots were in 2021, not 2020, and at the Capital Building not the Pentagon I refer to the place they go to in Alabama as a "town", when in fact it's the city of Mobile I say that Nationalism arose as monarchs were trying to consolidate power amid the breakdown of the feudalist order. While direct rule did contribute to the rise of nationalism, in fact the causes are much more complex and it’s more notable that the bourgeois used nationalism to justify the overthrow monarchies in the US and France.
