Hoodoo vs CRITR Rappel Device Comparison
I was sent a Hoodoo Rappel Device by Joshua Norman, a viewer who knew how much I loved my CRITR rappel device and wanted to see a comparison between that and the Hoodoo. The CRITR can be a bit difficult to obtain, they sell out fast each time a run of them is made. Imlay Canyon Gear has taken over the manufacture of the CRITR devices and is working to streamline the production and therefore the availability of the devices so that they will be more readily available in the future. Once I received the Hoodoo from Josh, I put it to the test on various canyons. Initially I really didn't like it and had a hard time feeling comfortable with it and after four canyons decided to not use it anymore. Well, I got it back out again in Granary canyon when my CRITR's were all being used by some friends who wanted to try them. I'm glad this happened because Granary was a good chance for me to really dial in the use of it. I decided it's not as bad as I originally decided, but it still bites way more than the CRITR and that was what was making it hard to get used to. I dropped the original rigging on it to nothing, or next to nothing and I was doing a lot better with it. Long story made short...... I'll stick with the CRITR, but if you've never used the CRITR, the Hoodoo will work just as well for you and you won't know the difference. #Canyoneering #Rappelling #UtahSlotCanyon Website: http://www.northwashoutfitters.com/ Website: http://www.northwashoutdoors.com/ North Wash Gear Store: https://www.mkt.com/NorthWashOutfitters Facebook: / northwashoutdoors Twitter: / north_wash InstaGram: / northwashoutdoors Patreon: / northwashoutdoors
