FLORIDA KEYS: Road trip with a Harley on the OVERSEAS HIGHWAY to KEY WEST

Ride with me from Miami to the Florida Keys, to the quirky, colorful and tropical town Key West - to the Southernmost point of the United States, and explore the gems along the way. One of the longest bridges in the world, an overseas highway from island to island. The highlights and to DOs of a journey on the Overseas Highway from Miami to Key West: Rent a Harely Davidson to travel in style As soon as you turn onto US Route 1, getting lost or taking a wrong turn on your way to Key West would be a great archivemnent. You just follow Highway 1 South for the next 125 miles or 200 kilometers - and you will arrive in Key West. Stay at one of the the other Keys to safe some money - for example at Islamorada. There is one iconic dish you need to try when visiting they Keys - and Casamar Market close to Islamorada is indeed one of the best stores to get your hands on this delicious seafood: Stone crab claws. Go fishing in the Florida Keys! The overseas Highway crosses the Florida Keys archipelago. The series of islands dotted in the azure ocean, composed of the Upper keys, Middle keys and lower keys are linked together by several bridges that form the overseas Highway. Have breakfast at famous Robbie's restaurant The Seven Miles Bridge in Florida one of the longest bridges in the world. It is flying over the deep blue of the Gulf of Mexico over 11 kilometres and connects Knight key to Little Duck key from the Gulf of Mexico to the Florida Strait. And yes, it is definitely the most spectacular part when riding the Florida Keys all the way to Key West. The city of Key West with its tropical, nonchalant and rebellious atmosphere is a true symbol of the east coast of the United States. It is located only 90 miles or 150km from Cuba and offers a unique free-spirit vibe. Indeed Key West even has its own flag. The so called „Conch Republic“. Visit the most southernmost point of continental USA Located on Whitehead Street in Old Town, you can visit Ernest Hemingway’s former home, where he lived for ten years. Today, the house is a museum, and you can see Hemingsway typewriter, living rooms, kitchen and bathroom.
