A hike in the wrong direction. Dishon Stream - Hula Nature Reserve. Having mixed up my route, I ended up in a slightly different place than I had planned, but it was nevertheless a fascinating solo trip. I'd heard of a beautiful place here in the mountains to the north with a beautiful pond near Moshav Alma, but my hike took a different direction. Along the dry bed of Dishon Stream between the mountains, I walked to Highway 90 and Moshav Ayelet HaShahar, and from there, along a dirt road, I reached the Jordan River, where storks and gray cranes grazed along the river on the other side of the fields. There, caught in a hurricane-force wind and rain, I arrived in the Hula Nature Reserve valley and, after walking part of the way along a large lake where a lone pelican was perched, I returned to Highway 90 and returned home.
