Echoes of the Elders | The Art of Land, Legacy, & Liberation
In Episode 4 of Echoes of the Elders, I return to sit with the beloved Ms. Doreen this time inside her Brooklyn brownstone, where we explore the deeper threads of land, legacy, liberation, and art. As we walk through her home, each room holds memory, intention, and history from Black artwork and antique fixtures to the stories rooted in ownership and stewardship. Our conversation expands beyond walls and property, reflecting on what it means to claim space, build legacy, and create pathways for future generations. This episode also connects to a full-circle moment in my own journey. Ms. Doreen is the founder and owner of Sankofa Sanctuary, the land in Grenada where I will be hosting my upcoming retreat this March. Sitting with her in this space helped ground me in the lineage, responsibility, and beauty of continuing this work. This conversation is about more than land , it is about remembering who we are, where we come from, and how we move forward with intention. Thank you for witnessing, listening, and honoring these stories with me.
