Cell is the structural & functional unit of every living body. It was discovered by Robert Hooke in 1665 by observing a cork. But the first living cell was observed by Antonie van Leeuwenhoek in 1674. After that many other scientists found out more about cell and its structure. In 1838-1839 Matthias Jakob Schleiden,Theodor Schwann & Rudolf Virchow introduced cell theory to organize all the informations of cell and its structure. Cells can be classified in different aspects. There are different types of cells like Prokaryotic cell, Eukaryotic cell, Gamete cells etc. To learn more watch this video.
