The Sun investigates SCAM “modelling” firms that charge talent £1000s for work

MODELLING firms are preying on young hopefuls to scam them out of thousands of pounds by falsely promising work with top brands. A Sun Online investigation today exposes one agency promising lucrative shoots with high street companies to young girls - as long as the wannabes fork out up to £2,500 first. Our undercover reporter was promised work paying £2,400 a day with major UK retailer ASOS - but only if we immediately handed over thousands of pounds. Offers of other work were made by London-based The Studio Works after we paid £100 for an online assessment. Our reporter, wearing a hidden camera, was told by a Studio Works figure: "Topshop is our main one. We on average see seven to eight castings from that brand alone a month. "Other companies like H&M, Mango, American Eagle, GAP, designers as well like Dolce and Gabbana, Dior, Hugo Boss [...] Versace and Givenchy so there's a big range.” All these brands denied working with The Studio Works, except Versace, Givenchy and Dolce and Gabbana, who could not be reached for comment.
