Cresol to prevent wild boars. A vacant lot 20 meters away has been destroyed by wild boars. It's only a matter of time before they invade our field. Sweet potatoes are a favorite food of wild boars, and once they learn the location, they will come again and again. Before allowing the first invasion, try to repel them with cresol. Last year, this worked. At the end of June last year, my sweet potato rows were destroyed, so I quickly tried cresol as an inexpensive wild boar prevention measure, and there were no further invasions until the autumn harvest. Since it is a residential area, I made a 1% cresol solution and hung plastic bottles around the field and on the rows of sweet potatoes and watermelons. The 1% diluted solution does not smell bad, but wild boars have a sense of smell that is 8,000 times stronger than humans, so the smell of cresol may be something that wild boars do not want to get close to.
