In this second installment of my DVD and Blu-ray haul, I softly explore some of the most creative and beautifully designed home video releases ever produced. Long before streaming became dominant, studios often treated physical media like works of art, filling collector’s editions with books, maps, coins, postcards, photographs, and elaborate packaging that turned a movie into an experience. DeMille Pre-Code Collection, including The Sign of the Cross, famous for Claudette Colbert’s unforgettable Poppaea milk bath sequence—a scene that pushed the limits of Hollywood before the Production Code was strictly enforced. • A rare 1912 silent film about George Armstrong Custer, offering a fascinating glimpse into early cinema’s portrayal of the American West. • Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Essentials, personally autographed by Michael J. Nelson. • And many more unusual collector’s editions, forgotten releases, and hidden gems.
