India has officially commissioned INS Mahendragiri, the latest indigenously built stealth frigate under Project 17A, marking another major milestone in the country’s drive towards self-reliance in defence manufacturing. Speaking at the commissioning ceremony in Visakhapatnam, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that while artificial intelligence will shape future battlefields, wars will ultimately be won by the courage, determination, and resolve of soldiers. He also highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s growing role as a major aerospace and defence manufacturing hub.
