Easy ride gets scary | ATV flips & crashes into trees | Crash Test Dummies

It was a relaxing ATV ride, until it wasn't. Yamaha Grizzly losses a tie rod and flips into trees. Thankfully the rider (Carlo) was able to walk away from a nasty crash. Although he was severely bruised Carlo was a trooper and was able to continue riding that day and the next. Yes, maybe popping some Advil hear and there. This ATV accident is a good reminder that things can happen fast while riding ATVs and SXS. Be prepared and drive safe. The cause of this crash was a tie rod end failure. Well actually the spindle/hub cracked where the tend attaches. Probably caused by stress from a wheel bearing play. Now let's talk about the ride... 5 machines set out on a midday siesta ride. We didn't want to go to crazy because this was ride 1 of 3 that weekend. We started out with some nice mud holes and then transitioned to some fast moving gravel roads. Other than the incident it was a great ride. Riding was a Can Am Outlander 1000 XT, and two 1000 XMR. Plus an Arctic Cat Wildcat and a now famous Yamaha Grizzly.
