This initiative aims to transform a 30,000-acre area into India's first net-zero carbon city, focusing on sustainable urban growth and technological innovation. The FCDA operates under the provisions of the Telangana Urban Areas (Development) Act, 1975, enabling it to prepare master plans, enforce zoning regulations, and regulate development within its jurisdiction. The authority is governed by a board chaired by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, with key members including the Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, the Chief Secretary, and officials from various departments such as Finance, Industries, and the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC).
