ESEE 5 modifications. A world of difference to already great knife

Here is a project I have started recently. It’s still work in progress, but this is how far I have got at this point. This is one of my favourite survival knives. Its a knife you can rely on WTSHF. I removed the black coating from the first inch from the tip so i could use this place for scrapping my fire steel rods. I sanded down the remaining black traction coating on the knife with a 1000 grit sand paper. Removed the black coating from the cutting edge to the middle of the blade totally so it would bite into wood and cut more efficiently as it had less traction holding it back as the coating had been removed. Sand papered the jimping slightly for comfort when doing prolonged carving tasks. Thin down the handle slabs. Cut in two thumb scallops to improve grip when doing lever type cuts. Removed the corners just at the finger guards on the canvas micarta scales for comfort. Filed two finger grooves into the scales at the finger guard for comfort. Added rocky pattern stippling groves to enhance the grip on the mircarta scales. Increased the divet hole depth on the handle slabs for securer drill holding capabilities. Sanded down the palm swells to increase comfort levels so it fitted my hand better. It comes with a great sheath which i feel i have improved upon also. I modified the sheath by removing the plastic & metal belt clip it came with. I know have a black leather belt loop which is 5cm wide in its place now. I added a fire steel rod holder to the bottom of the sheath which is held in place temporarily by bolts. If i am happy that the feral rod will work in this position i will cut these bolts to size and glue them into this place permanently. With the changes to the handle shape, meant the knife was n't as a secure fit as it was before i started the project, So i had to take a heat gun to the opening of the sheath to re-adjust it to make it a much better and securer fit. It now clicks home with authority.
