Rio Tinto | Closure progress at Gove
We’re making great progress as we prepare to cease mining at Gove in Australia’s Northern Territory. More than half the structures on our refinery site, Australia’s largest demolition project currently, have been brought down. In all, it's expected a total of 150,000 tonnes will be recovered from the site and recycled, possibly more. We’re also on track to complete a 4-year project to rehabilitate one of our former tailings dams to a stable environment, and we’re pushing ahead with 2 new solar farms for the region. #demolition #rehabilitation #solar #sustainability More information can be found on our website: www.riotinto.com For news, please head to: www.riotinto.com/news For careers, please head to: www.riotinto.com/careers #FindingBetterWays
