It is based on the design of the Torpedo Pentasport P5. The difference from the Pentasport P5 is that this system has a total of 7 gears. The gear ratio is 284%. Since Fichtel & Sachs was acquired by SRAM in 1997, this system has been sold as the Spectro S7 and later as the SRAM S7. Since then, the gear ratio has been increased to 303%. The internal structure of the hub has changed only minimally.
