MORNING PRAYER | Gratitude Doesn't Change What You Receive, It Strengthens Your Faith and Closeness to God Begin this new day with a MORNING PRAYER to thank God, strengthen your faith, and draw closer to Jesus. This prayer is inspired by the story of the ten lepers: they all received the same miracle, but only one returned to give thanks and ended up prostrate at the Lord's feet. Luke chapter 17, verses 11-19, teaches us that gratitude doesn't determine how much we receive, but what we do after receiving it. The ten men were healed as they walked, trusting in Jesus' word; however, the Samaritan who returned received something even deeper: a personal encounter with Christ and the confirmation that his faith had saved him. This Christian morning prayer will help us recognize the blessings that have become commonplace: life, health, family, food, home, the people we love, and God's answers that we once asked for but, over time, stopped thanking Him for. We will also reflect on the reasons that can distance us from gratitude: haste, habit, forgetfulness, comparison, worry about what is lacking, and the tendency to attribute solely to our own efforts that in which God's goodness was also present. Gratitude does not automatically eliminate difficulties or immediately change our circumstances, but it transforms the way we face them. It strengthens faith, renews our perspective, brings peace to the heart, and leads us back to the feet of Jesus. Every sincere expression of thanks is a way to return to the Lord and remain close to God.
