If you are looking for a place where you can play in the water, see cute animals, and still keep the trip relaxing, you need to check this place out! I originally came here for the rafting because the weather was so hot, but I didn’t expect Maoshan Forest World to have so much more to offer. The jungle rafting goes from a little exciting to totally laid-back, and the whole experience was so satisfying. The creek area has clean water, plenty of shade, and feels super refreshing. I also got to meet capybaras, Duoduo the sloth, and deer that felt just like the ones in Nara. It was so healing and perfect for a date. Practical Tips • The rafting is relaxing, but you will still get completely wet • Bring a change of clothes, towel, non-slip slippers or creek shoes, and a waterproof bag • Hold your phone and camera tightly • Do not put your phone in your pocket if you don’t have a waterproof pouch • Lockers are available near the rafting area: RMB 10 per hour, and you can access them during the visit • The shower area is clean and has hair dryers • Do not go barefoot in the creek; wear creek shoes • There are many insects in the forest, so apply insect repellent well • If you feed the capybaras, you can enter and pet them before 4 PM • Sloths are more active in the morning and usually sleep in the afternoon • The animals have closing times, usually before 4 PM, so don’t arrive too late • The scenic shuttle bus is RMB 39 per person, with unlimited rides, and stops at 4:30 PM Location: Maoshan Forest World Address: No. 169, Maodong Forest Farm, Xuebu Town, Jintan District, Changzhou, Jiangsu, China Navigation: Maoshan Forest World Visitor Center Opening Hours Reference Scenic area: 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, last entry at 4:00 PM Daytime rafting: 10:00 AM-4:00 PM Night rafting: June 19-July 19: open during Dragon Boat Festival and every Saturday and Sunday July 25-August 31: open daily, with night rafting extended to 8:00 PM Please refer to official announcements for the latest schedule.
