Former Prime Minister Helen Clark has condemned the Government's cautious approach to recognising Palestinian statehood. Clark says a genocide is unfolding in Gaza, and New Zealand is in the humiliating position of cosying up to Washington rather than recognising Palestine. The issue was the subject of an emotional debate in Parliament today, which saw Greens co-leader Chlöe Swarbrick barred from the house for a week for suggesting Government MPs are spineless.
