Joseph Mathunjwa on AMCU's strike threats
The Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union, AMCU, has come out strongly against Impala Platinum's plan to lay off 13 thousand people. The union has threatened a massive industrial action should the company go ahead with its decision. Last week, Minerals Resources Minister, Gwede Mantashe, described the impending job cuts as reckless and unethical. Implats on the other hand, say the move is part of a restructuring process which is meant to generate sufficient money by the year 2021. Joseph Mathunjwa, AMCU president joins us now, we also invited Impala Platinum to join us but they declined to another engagement. For more news, visit: sabcnews.com
