Insane Bluefish Bite, Spring Bluefish, NJ 4/25/16

(FULL DESCRIPTION CLICK "SHOW MORE")(WATCH IN 1080p) TARGETED SPECIES: BLUEFISH A lot of buzz is going on about the Spring Bluefish run here in NJ. Decided to go out with a couple of my friend, Khoa and Aaron to see if we can get in on the action. As soon as we got there, It was a massacre and a S**TSHOW. Bunch of people trying to get in on the action as well. After a hike, we got into the fishing and we got hooked up right away. Nonstop action for a couple hours, every cast!! This video is LONG. I didn't get everything on film but it is enough to make a video. I kept 3 blues in the 7-12lb. range, Khoa kept 3, Aaron kept 4. LOTS of other fish released and caught for fun. I got up to the point where i was shaking the fish off my hook in order to release them (Yes they count because I leader-ed them in). I take good care with fish I don't plan on keeping. The blues I plan to release done in a procedure that I will describe here: 1. I curl my hands in so only my knuckles are up. 2. I grab the outer gill plate and the inner most plate inside the gill plate. 3. I try my best to avoid touching the gills. 4. I handle them as quick as i can (CPR) 5. A strong fish like a bluefish will need a jumpstart so i just drop them head first in. I had no problems with my release procedure. the fate of the fish after it swims off is depending on what happens to the fish. If i plan on keeping the fish, I will not use this procedure.
