Is Your First Aid Documentation Compliant? | First Aid & Compliance Risk During one of my Accredited Emergency First Aid at Work sessions, a member of staff disclosed that after accidents occur, they do not complete accident forms — even when first aid treatment has been provided. This creates serious risks. If you access a first aid kit and remove items without recording it: ✔ Your team may not know supplies are missing ✔ You may be unprepared during a life-threatening emergency ✔ Patterns of accidents cannot be identified ✔ Management cannot implement preventative measures ✔ You may fail inspection under CQC or Ofsted Accident forms are not just paperwork. They allow management to: ✔ Identify trends ✔ Prevent recurring incidents ✔ Monitor first aid usage ✔ Maintain stocked kits ✔ Protect staff and service users ✔ Demonstrate regulatory compliance At the end of the training, the manager presented a newly developed accident form that staff must complete after every incident — whether injury occurred or not.
