The Fire Piston What it is and how to use it

There are many ways to make fire, and this is one of the more interesting. The Fire Piston is a centuries old method. Originally use by Southern Pacific peoples and made from wood, indigenous examples were first seen in Europe as far back as the 18th century. Modern examples made for bushcrafters like this one are readily available from many online sources, but how do they work, and how do you use them?
