This sequel goes bigger, more cosmic, and more franchise-heavy than the first film, with Princess Peach taking on a much larger role as she sets out to rescue Rosalina while Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Toad try to keep up with the chaos. In this review, I’m talking about the plot, characters, voice performances, animation, pacing, music, Easter eggs, Fox McCloud’s awesome cameo, and why I think this movie is a 9/10 even if it doesn’t quite match the tighter emotional focus of the first movie.
