How to Knit Horizontal (or Sideways) Stitches

This handsome, curious variety of traveling knit stitch turns a smart ninety degrees from perpendicular, and aligns itself with the horizontal grain of the fabric. It plays well with the more usual traveling stitches that veer off along the diagonal. In this tutorial video, I'll show you not only how to knit the stitches; but also offer advice on gauge, materials, and the differences between horizontal stitches on reverse stockinette versus stockinette ground.
